Our program broadens the definition of family to include the community charged with guiding our youth toward the best versions of themselves. Hope Ignites Southern California provides holistic services to foster growth in our scholars and to cultivate their innate resilience.

Ways To Connect & Serve

From meal prep to campus maintenance, we could not function wholly without the dedication of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, there are plenty of ways you can get involved at Hope Ignites Southern California. If you’re interested in one below, fill out our volunteer form so that we can learn more about you!

Mentors impact our scholars for life.  Each scholar is paired with a caring and professional adult who offers guidance, trust, encouragement, and inspiration. Through a one-on-one relationship, mentors assist with life skills development, share experiences and expertise, while modeling positive values.

From subject-specific academic tutoring to piano lessons to fitness gurus, we always need tutors to share their special talents with our scholars. Tutors can help oversee daily study sessions or teach a new skill.

Have a skill, craft, or passion for any topic you’d like to teach and pass on to our next generation? Come and share it with our scholars!

We strive to accommodate more youth who likewise need the right environment for success. Help us spread the word, refer potential scholars, and grow our reach!

Join our enthusiastic group dedicated to continuing our mission through helping at fundraisers, planning events with our scholars, and networking!

Our Dinner Helpers either bring a premade or purchased meal and join our scholars and Residential Counselors for a family-style meal or arrive early to engage with our scholars in helping to prepare a meal (and stay to enjoy it, too!).

Help with household fixups, cosmetic improvements, and various other projects in and out of our Residential Homes.

Or volunteer your time and talents to help ensure our facilities run smoothly by handling supervising, administrative and clerical work, and maintaining function and order.

Let’s never forget our collegian scholars! Help us to continue the love, support, and thoughtful gestures by curating and sending out care packages to our hardworking college scholars!

Bring more culture and integration with the community to our scholars by coordinating activities our scholars could engage in to grow our minds, bodies, and souls while forming relationships within our city!

MEMBER EXPECTATIONS

AGE: BETWEEN 21 AND 35 YEARS OLD

COMMITMENT: ATTEND QUARTERLY MEETINGS; VOLUNTEER, HOST, OR PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING

PASSION: GENUINE INTEREST IN HOPE IGNITES’ MISSION; SERVE AS AN AMBASSADOR

SKILLS: DESIRE TO GROW IN LEADERSHIP, NETWORKING, AND FUNDRAISING

TERM: 2 YEARS, WITH OPTION TO RENEW

ANNUAL DUES: $150.00
